Peacocks with their tail plumage on full display are quite difficult to frame. Zoom out too far and you can hardly see the head. Zoom in too far and you miss out on all that tail feather detail. Anyway I thought that this first one gave the bird a certain look of "intent". They are quite feisty birds, right up there with geese on the attitude scale.

I was also fortunate enough to be able to make a closeup image of the head and neck with a decent background.

The high resolution versions of these images have made welcome additions to my collection of wildlife prints.
Comments are, of course, welcome.

The first shot is absolutely fantastic! I love it!!!!! The second one is pretty and a very good shot, but it's just not interesting. Not enough in the picture to hold my attention. Absolutely adore the first one though, fantastic work! Keep it up!

Amazing colors, so bright and vibrant. They almost look metallic.

Thanks for the comments. Peacocks certainly are a huge display of colour and detail. I agree that the second photo lacks the wow-factor of the first one but I always like to do a closeup whenever I can in an attempt to highlight the intricate details that are often found around the bird's head.

Truly a beautiful bird. Have you ever seen one in flight? Magnificent!Thank you. I honestly did not know that they could fly. I assumed that with that huge train of feathers that they would be flightless. I imagine that it would be an incredible sight.
