I'll be in Philadelphia for a week and I plan to see a few games. I'm wondering if anyone has ever taken a large lens like a 70-200 into the Phillies' ballpark. Will security allow that lens into the park? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Nathan

Check the club's website, or just call the stadium.

May '08 my brother and I got SRO tickets and both walked in with backpacks. Mine loaded with the camera gear in my sig except 70-200f4 (I had at the time) Canon and his 70-200 Nikon. After the 8th inning we walked around behind the batters box and got a few from different angles. No one, including all the ticket checkers, ushers, security... gave us a second look or seemed to care. Both these shots are from the same nose bleed seat.

You're fine, I've seen it many times there and done it myself, no hassles. Some one in the section next to me was using a 70-200 combo just last night.

I maybe wrong here, but down at the Cinci stadium, I've heard that the bag checkers are told that anyone with the "white" lens, is not allowed to bring that in to the park and the black lens can not be over 185mm. I've yet to test this out...
