ACDC at Hampden

Well, I went along to see the mighty ACDC at Hampden PArk, Glasgow, on Tuesday night, accompanied by one of my mates and my trusty G9. As we were a wee bit away from the stage (just into the seats) the slight elevation meant we probably got a better view of the stage than some of the standing crowd (at least thats how we consoled ourselves)
Light levels meant that ISO 400 was the norm with a few taken at 800 (okay quality isn't spectacular, but these are just shots for myself)

Looks like an awesome show! I was going to buy tickets for a show down here but the prices were outrageously expensive.

Yeah, I was the same until a friend of one of my staff who had already bought these ones was given VIP ones which got them backstage to meet the band etc. (lucky &*(^%$£!!!) so he only wanted what he paid for them - RESULT!

You know what wrecks a show like that.. All the morons with there cameras up in the air.. Half of them with phone cameras less than 3 megapixels and most will take blurry shots. I'm from the oldschool. You go to a concert to watch a show not to make a stupid little youtube video.. I can't wait to see AC/DC early next year.. I'll be right up next to that catwalk!

sweet! i'm lucky to call these guys friends, i was out in LA with them for the US leg of this tour. the lighting display for the tour is INSANE!

you've already got an assignment for a show that's 6 months away? wow, you aussies are efficient.

yeah, well there are two photogs that work for the magazine (myself & aaron, he's on here somewhere too - joined a little while back) and if i didn't get in early i might have missed the boat! we split the shows between us and he nabbed marilyn manson, i got janes addiction, he got green day (no problems there - i think they are woeful!)

As bad as Green Day are these days, you'd probably get some shots worthy of making you a bit of money because they're so popular. Unless you don't get the rights to the photos to sell them yourself outside the magazine. Then it's definitely not worth trying to go to shoot Green Day :lol:

that last shoot is great. I saw them for the first time at Wembley Stadium in June 2009. They were awesome.

yeah i did think of that angle glenn, but aaron really wanted to do it so it's his one... his photography is amazing and as he comes from an architectural background he's really switched on when it comes to tilting and angles - something i suck at! we learn from each other!

I wish I could get my SLR in with maybe my 50 on it but I don't think it will be allowed. I might take the mrs Ixus and see how i go.. I'm gonna be right up next to that cat walk.. Can't wait!!
