This was taken at the mission in Santa Barbara California. Please let me know if you see anything that could have been done to make this shot better.

In the middle of the frame there is a white spot that is a little distracting. It's not the moon is it? I would prefer a tighter crop, but your composition is just fine --good use ofthe rule of thirds

Crop out some of the excess information.

That white spot is annoying. Always try to be aware what's in your photo before you push the shutter.

Yes, that was the moon, I am going to try an PS it out of the shot (someday). Grego, what would you crop out? I think I could take a little off of the left, but I am afraid to center the rose in the shot. Any ideas on the crop?

Here's where I was thinking. Although in my field of stuff, psing stuff out is a no-no, but here it is fixed up with some added levels and stuff.

my opinion - for what it is worth - is the lighting just doesn't look natural - which it might be - but it just doesn't seem to be in agreement with the lighting in the back ground.

I think quite the oposite i think that the picture looks far better with the levels enhanced

my bad - I was referring to the original - but even then, if you look at the improved image - the lighting is coming from the bottom with the underside of the leaves illuminated. This could be caused by the sun being extremely low in the horizon, but then the sky colors should be deeper. It would be unusual to have the top of the leaves so shaded with such bright skies above.... its a nit.... it just caught my attention...

Well it all starts with what you expose for. The photo is underexposed, so you have that darker look to it.

What i did was make the flower pop out, which is the subject.

I think the original post is beautiful. Looks like a moon to me, and that the picture was taken in the evening. Personally I wouldn't change a thing... good composition, good job!
