I work at a very reputable pro camera store first off. The new Canon Off-Camera Shoe Cords were delivered today. But the design was different and it had a typo...

The ones that are mispelled are on the outside of the box.
These images aren't modified.
I'll keep an ear out if someone wants to buy it or wants more pics. I wonder if canon will do a recall?

Did you ever consider product counterfeit? It looks like to me...

I bought mine from B&H, directly from their store. Mine also has the typo. I seriously doubt B&H bought counterfeit products from Canon. They also mark the grey market stuff from the USA. I think it is simply a Canon typo.

I just got mine from B&H and the box that mine came in doesn't look anything like the photos above. It just has one Canon product label in the front, in English (plus other European languages but no Asian), and there's another label below that with the EAN/JAN and UPC code bars. The one pictured above might be a gray market box.

There's also at least one more in the french text:
External should read "externe" and not "ezterne".
Someone at the QC Dept. in Canon will have to perform his hara-kiri...

Just because you bought it from an honest dealer doesn’t mean it can’t be counterfeit. The counterfeit business is HUGE, and there are many people in the supply chain between factory and the retail store. Only one has to be dishonest. I think I would provide those pictures to Canon, and see if they own up to a couple misspellings. If it’s not a proofreader’s error, I am sure Canon would like to know someone in their supply chain is ripping them off.
