hello friends, i recently sent in my 16-35L mki to Canon for a clean because there is a dark particle stuck onto my lens from the inside. Canon emailed me back and wanted to charge me $112.64 to perform the cleaning. Before i accept the offer and have them clean it, I'm wondering if im being overly charged or the price is just about right? What do you guys think? Should i decline the offer and go to a local camera store or just leave it to the professionals?

That doesn't sound that bad to me at all, but if you call up and negotiate nicely a little bit, there is a chance they will lower the price. They have done so in the past for others.

About $100 for essentially labor to take a lens apart, clean it, and make sure it's working again for a $1500 lens sounds like a deal to me.
How many hours involved would you guess? 3 or so? Imagine what labor per hour is for an auto mechanic. You're paying about $38/hour which would be a cheap mechanic.

because there is a dark particle stuck onto my lens from the inside. Unless it's huge, & you shoot a lot at 16mm & f/22, I doubt that it would ever show up in an image.

I agree with all of the above responses. That price does not seem out of line (and it most likely also includes return insured Fedex shipping as is Canon's habit). All in all, it sounds very fair and reasonable. And as Frank has mentioned, if it's a dust particle and doesn't affect your images, don't worry about it. Now, on the other hand, if its fungus...
