Just a few more shots of the bluebells taken in the woods yesterday
http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif
I played the music 'the bluebell polka' today. it was just a coincidence that the tune was in the middle of CD which I had on the sterio
the bluebells were heavy with rainwater
there had been downpours all the day and night before
and they were drenched but still upright.
the ground was absolutely sodden.
as the leaves are not completely out on the trees the water was dripping down all around

I wasn't there for too long
also , someone else would have taken far better shots of the scene.
I really would wish it on a better photographer
it's hard to believe the sight. when it hits you
and you want to capture it all , but thats well nighhttp://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif impossible
http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif
still ,good to have seen it while it lasts.
I try to get there every year at this time especially (of the bluebells)
it's all short lived

Very nice, Marie.
As for the place, a few days ago I was at a place, with lots of purple flower, though they were crocus.. And still, wanted to capture all the scene, bud didn't do very well.
Still, your shots are really nice. :)

Lovely shots Marie. The first one shows that these are indeed true indigenous bluebells. Did you know that the bluebells of British Isles & Ireland are under threat from Spanish bluebells, I think it must be their revenge for all the tourists we send over there every summer. See this link for more info.

Beautiful shots Marie, love them all. The one with the logs is beautiful, so much colour everything just jumps out at you. and the last one has a very peaceful dreamy look. Like when you're just laying on your back looking up at the sky and not a care in the world. very relaxing. :) :)

I didn't know that Neil http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif
thank you very much
quote
"How blue are your bluebells? The sight and scent of an ancient bluebell wood in full flower is one of the wonders of the English countryside, but our native flora is being threatened by Spanish and Hybrid bluebells.
Up to half of the world’s bluebells (Hyacinthoides non-scripta) grow in the British Isles and this is one of Britain’s most important natural spectacles.
English Nature is trying to minimise the threat posed by Spanish and Hybrid bluebells and wants gardeners to do their bit to help by:
Continuing to plant native bluebells,
Composting unwanted Spanish or Hybrid bluebells,
Avoiding planting or discarding Spanish or Hybrid bluebells in the wild,
Considering the risk the plants may pose to nearby native bluebell populations, even in gardens,
Checking the identity of bulbs used in new native woodland creation schemes.
How to tell the difference between Native and Spanish bluebells?
Native bluebells have fairly narrow leaves, and the flower stem droops or nods distinctly to one side at the top. The flowers have quite a strong, sweet scent and are deep violet-blue.
Spanish bluebells have stiff upright flower stems and pale to mid blue flowers, usually sticking out all the way around the stem with little or no scent. Hybrid bluebells have a mixture of these features and can look like the Native or the Spanish bluebell. Both the Spanish bluebell (Hyacinthoides hispanica) and the Hybrid bluebell (Hyacinthoides x massartiana) are capable of crossing with our native plants and producing highly fertile seed, capable of invading quite dense populations of the native species "
