It's a nice picture. I've always liked the way IR cuts thru haze. But personally, I've never been a big fan of the channel-swap look. I think this pic would be nice if run thru something like NIK Silver Efex and a great BW were made of it.

I might try it as a BW (I don't have NIK Silver Efex, though), but honestly I very rarely care for BW shots. I've been shooting infrareds for years but wasn't a huge fan of it until I discovered the channel swap technique. I just have to have some color in there somewhere to make me happy.
Wonderfully done Lonnie,
Thanks, Kevin.

Lonnie, I have just run this through nik silver efex, and the result is fabulous, but then so is your original.

Pretend my "IMAGE EDITING OK" lamp is lit for a second and show me what you got. ;)
I downloaded the trial version of the software, but I have no idea what I'm doing with it. Like I said, I'm not (usually) a fan of B/W, so I don't know what all of the options and sliders are supposed to do for me.
Not that it really matters, though. There's no way I could ever justify spending $200 on a plugin. :(

Thanks. But, as I expected, it does nothing for me. Without the splash of blue in the sky it looks too unremarkable to my eyes. :(

I like this one a lot (the original, blue sky)! Very nice job. In my own work, I process IR for both color and b/w (depending on the image itself), but agree that the b/w version of this loses a lot of the "surreal" that the blue sky version has so much of.

If we all agreed on everything this would be one very boring planet to live on, huh? ;)

I second this. Never much of a fan of the fake color added in black/white photos. The full b/w one looks great!

I prefer the touch of blue myself...
