Anybody agrees with me that the 18-55 mm definition is quite poor?

What do you mean by definition? It will never be as sharp as an L lens but it doesn't look so bad to me. The tattoo is quite focused but the bat head has motion blur which is to be expected as that is the fastest moiving part. Also the lens tends to get softer farther toward the edges. I think the lens performed well on a cost per pixel basis. Perhaps closing the aperature down to f/8 or tighter would help.
Just glad that he is not swinging at me. ;-)

Personally I dont think the kit lens is that bad.
Sure it isnt 'L' quality, but it is pretty darn good for what it is.

REmember that the kit lens is a 100 dollar lens...
not much to be expected and I think it out performs its price. Nice timing on the shot.

"it doesn't look so bad to me" either. What shutter speed were you at?
