Photo release form needed..

I am getting into photographing models and such...and was wondering if anyone has a source for a good photo release form or might have a good form that I may use as a template.

These days, it's hard to know what to expect from people you may have photographed, but do not know. They could verbally say "sure" and then change their mind later. So I play it safe: I ask for releases on any photograph that I've made where the person is clearly the subject of the image, and that I think I might be able to use commercially. But these are mostly people with whom I've had a conversation, and a personal photography session.

For my candids on the streets, in parks, festivals, or in travel scenes, markets, etc., I usually don't worry about it. But if I think I've made an image that will surely sell commercially, then I'll try for a release.

If you think that your pictures might be commercially used, make the effort to get a release, and be prepared to give something for that permission. A thank-you print or prints, a small donation or payment, etc., is considered fair price for the permission to use their likeness "forever." It may not be required, but it's only fair if they ask for something in return.

Mine is a little simpler that Competent123... which covers your butt probably more than mine would... But here it is (keep in mind I don't sell stock or commercial photos)

(For advertising purposes of (Mhappy) Photography

I give permission and consent that __Client name_________ photographs may be used by ___(Mhappy)___ Photography for the purpose of use in a portfolio, e-portfolio and advertising material (such as Mhappy Photography brochures, newspaper ads or other forms of advertising)

I understand that there will be no payment by Mhappy Photography for the use of Client name's images.

I had a model release form that was much more spacific (like competent123, but my ex-sister-in-law refused to sign it; saying the way it reads it's saying her daughter is practically selling her soul if it's signed and that if (daughter) ever wants a modelling or acting career, I'll get all the money she earned and her daughter will get nothing........ Whatever .:mad:

Here's the one I had - that I got online (which by the way, NOT ONE of my clients ever questioned it)... which I changed because of the problems x-SIL is causing...
Tell me if anything remotely suggests I'm going to take her daughter's profit from future jobs.....
