Yeah... Been fun and not the prettiest obs on the planet. Alot of rough edges that I can sort out later, but she is up and ready.

The scopes will still be covered with a motorcycle cover when the roof is closed, but we have had a good downpour today and it stayed nice and snug in the observing and warm area.

Heater, power, red light and chairs are all in and hopefully tonight will see the start of a new age for me and images. No more setup, 10 mins and away... :)

All done in time for the colder and darker nights :)

JUST NEED A NAME NOW..... Any ideas ?

Pictures can be seen on my website under the observatory section.

"The B&Q Fence Panel Observatory"

Looking good and will be interesting to see how it performs when the nights start to draw in and the temperature drops again!

lol, hopefully will be ok. The warm room is going to be lined in hardboard and has a carpet in as well as an electric heater. The missus and I sat in it last night with laptops and was nice and cosy. Shame Mr Cloud came out to play, but at least got the scope aligned and set to a park position.

All the cables to the mount have been routed and cable tied so all sorted out no. Literally undo the 4 bungees holding the roof, slide it back. Take off the bike cover, plug in power and away I go :)

Just read your Blog about construction of your observatory, well done, looking good.
Please make sure that your corrugated sheeting is properly fastened as the uplift force can be quite high and the sheets will shear away from their fixings (personal experience here).
You may also need to check that you have sufficient drainage for rainwater as you don't want a pond around your new observatory.
Looking at your signon, please do not call this shed a cat astro fee.
