I took these two photos while I was taking bird photos at the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge.
I like the scenery... but I am unsure if either of them has a focal point enough
to be interesting. Also I am struggling as if they are really landscapes or just
hmmm snapshots?
I appreciate your comments pro and con...

I think you already know the answer to the question you raised.:)
If you are going to present landscapes, please make sure that the horizon is at least level:)
One of the things you will read on the forum is about the "Rule Of Thirds" for composition.
In regards to the second image, the rule is broken by having the horizon in the exact middle of the image. The "Rule" suggests that you should either have the horizon at 1/3 from the bottom of the image, thus showing more sky, or 1/3 from the top of the image, thus showing more of the glades.
If you now look at the first image, without knowing it, you have that bush with its reflection at the lower left third power point. If you had, or were to now crop tightly making the bush and it's relection the distinctive subject of the image (but still at the third point), it would be a far more interesting image.
So, for the future, make sure your images have a distinctive subject or a clear idea as to what the image is about. Less is more.:)
