Hows this for a beginner setup?
I'm thinking about springing for triggers too. I have the new cactus triggers... they are crap.

That calumet set looks pretty nice, I have been rolling the idea of a set around myself but have never really progressed beyond the "it would be nice if I had more reason to use it" state.

Well, do a search for the Calumet Genesis 200 and you will see that many people use it here from the newbies setting-up home studio to the pros and experienced guys like "tetrode" and "silvr" and the Interfit EXD200 does get use most by the people setting-up home studios. Their accessories are interchangeable and most people actually use the Interfit accessories on their Calumet Genesis 200/400 because both use Elinchrom mounts and accessories, and since the real Elinchrom accessories are more expensivce, the Interfit get their replacements.
Do a search for the two light kits and you will be conviced.

I would recommend the Calumet genesis over the EXD200, for all intents and purposes they are basically the same (same manufacturer in China) however the Genesis 200 has the advantage of having fan cooling, I have the EXD200 and never had a heat problem and it is a great small monolight however I tend to turn off the modeling lights once I have finished setting up the lights, with the modeling lights on all the time it could be different.
