I use Comodo backup to back up my photos to an external hard drive I just purchased (about time too!). The problem I have is that it updates EVERYTHING when i chose to update. How do I set it up to only update the latest files? This was meant to be quick lol!

Thanks in advance.

i am not familiar with comodo backup, but most backups function similarly.. you have to use an option for "incremental backups".. this will only backup the new files or modified files since the last backup... good luck!

Legend! "incremental backups" is available but I couldn't quite decipher the instructions and be confident that that was the option I needed to tick.

Tested and worked like a charm!

Thanks, appreciate that!

Incremental backup is more use when you're doing backups to tape, or making one big file of backups. They're more of a pita to restore from.

Are you mirroring the drive, or backing up to a big file? If you're mirroring it should only copy new files by default. If you're backing up to a big file you'll need the incremental option.

One advantage of buying software is it includes support.
