Will adding macro tubes when reversing a lens increase or decrease magnification? And how would it relate to the working distance? I don't have the reversing ring anymore to test for myself.

Not sure if you mean a lens reversed directly onto the camera body or onto another lens but using extension tubes will increase the magnification further and shorten the focus distance more.

Excuse me for omitting details. What I meant is camera body, macro tubes, reversing ring, then the lens, 24-105mm L or 50mm 1.8II.

By the way, like many I'm impressed by most of your macro shots. Are they usually crops, or just re-sized for the board if you don't mind sharing this info.

Thanks for the comment re my pics. They are normally uncropped and just reduced in size for web posting. I normally mention if there is any significant cropping involved (I sometimes post 100% crops to show the detail in the original pic).
