I took this shot at Coogee beach just before sunset. I thought the colours in the sky looked awesome, but I think the footprints in the sand might spoil the shot. Im no good with PS and my attempt to smooth it out were a disaster, so Ive left them there lol All comments appreciated!

Greetings fellow Perthling!
Nice shot - you might want to explain to the folks that this is the West Coast Coogee not the east coast - harder to get a sunset on the east coast.
. . . . . . . . Im no good with PS and my attempt to smooth it out were a disaster, so Ive left them there lol
There ya go! Even left a sort of natural sand ridge in the picture. Took 2 minutes. Could do a lot better job if I gave it more time. Let me know if you want me to take the pic down.
Ciao

Great shot. A question for you. I am studying abroad next February and I can't decide whether to go to Perth or Townsville. To cities on opposite sides of Australia but they both have good marine biology programs which is why I'm going. I'll be there until June. I'm sure you're partial to Perth because you live there but hows the whether that time of year? Thanks

Beautiful capture! What a great picture! I didn't even notice the footprints in the sand until I read your caption. I don't think it takes away much from the picture, as the sand would othersize be just a featureless shadow.
John Trogdon's mod is also amazing looking, and I would love to find out how to do that to my own images.
I'm new to digital photography and post-processing, and am impressed with both efforts; thanks for posting them!

Well, it's arguable which has better scenery but Perth definitely has the less sweatier weather. Both panos taken hand held with a Kodak D150, 6 years ago. The purple Perth sky was strait outta the camera ie not processed, and I kinda liked it so I left it as it was.

Ok I gotta tell ya I love Perth and wouldnt live anywhere else, but I have never been to Townsville so I cant really say what its like over there. February is our hottest month, getting to temperatures around 38-42 degree's celcius. And the nights stay quite hot as well.. around 25-28.You really need to get a place with air conditioning. After Feb tho.. its all good! Lots of nice sunny days, and the winter doesnt really kick in til June-July.Hope you enjoy your stay in Australia where ever you decide to go!

All I did was some curves adjustment, and slight USM. Glad you liked it. Sorry, but I thought I had already responded to this earlier. . . . . . I guess not :o

I lived in Oz for a year of Grad School and was in Armidale (NSW) but traveled from Adelaide to Cairns (all up and down the east coast). It's wonderful. And in Townsville you're close to the reef which you simply must visit, even if you end up in Perth. Alas, I didn't have the $$ at the time to see WA or make it up to the Alice, etc. Wish I had.
By the way, about the shot! I love it!! Outstanding texture and color.
