Hi
I shot a wedding for a friend a couple of months ago (shot behind the pro hired by MOB) and they actually liked my shots better. I was asked by one of their friends to shoot his wedding in a couple of weeks. I shoot primarily wildlife so I am short on wedding lens. I dug through my stuff and I am taking the following:
20D w/grip
Drebel (hackedI) w/grip back-up
Canon remote release switch RS-80N3
Canon off camera shoe cord
50mm 1.8
18-55 kit lens
28-135 IS
70-200 2.8L IS
Manfrotto 3021pro tripod/ 322RC head
580EX
420EX w/stand
Pocket bouncer x2
Stroboframe 350 bracket
6 gigs of memory
6 511 batteries
40 AA 2300amh batteries
The wedding is here in Arizona and will have a lot shot outside in mid to late afternoon, with the ceremony in the church with no flash allowed.I will be shooting RAW I have 2 primary questions.
1. What am I forgetting to take?
2. What f-stop setting and ISO and metering mode do you guys recommend for different lenses and situations to get the best best bokeh . and when should the whole scene be sharp? i.e. portraits, group, at alter. Thanks for any advise. Including leaving town NOW!!

Hi Bloo Dog
I was hoping to hear from you. Thanks for the input. Actually all but the tripod and 70-200 fit nicely in my Pelican 1510 roller case. I am a pretty fair photographer and know the 20D pretty well. I have the customs functions set where I like them and feel comfortable doing this I was mainly asking if you had favorite f-stops you use to get the background you like to see in different situations. I'm off to work now, but hope to read more later. I've read and re-read all the books I can find on wedding photography. Just hoping for hints and tips.

Looks like you've got it covered.

Hi Bloo Dog
Thats the stuff I was talking about. Places to stand, toes not to stand on and such. I also appreciate the lens and setting tips. Fortunatly I will get in some practice at the rehearsal and a chance to have a chat with the minister and flirt with his wife if needed;) , then race home an analyze the shots to see what needs tweeking. You may get a frantic late night post, but I hope not. Thanks again
Cheers,
Terry
