View Full Version : Girl and a Tree (C&C requested), new photographer

I've only had my DSLR (Rebel XS) for about two weeks now, but since I'm a teacher with lots of time, I have taken about 100 pictures per day, sometimes more.

Here is a picture I took. One is untouched (except for a couple pimples) and the other I darkened the skin tone in PSE.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

I like the pose and the lighting, but I'd crop it and clone out the white area by the tree and the truck.

nice capture :D and yes that cropping would help.

I agree with the crop as well it would help hide the evidence of the direct flash shown in the leaves of the tree.

Flash effect also is showing on the stem of the tree. I don't know how, but I am sure this can be fixed in PP tools.

Thanks.

All that was really good advice.

I didn't notice the flash effect in the leaves and tree trunk. I didn't notice the truck or the white behind my daughter.

Wow. Thanks again.

Me too am having difficulties to notice my background till some one point out the problems for me.
I think it is something that all beginners share.

Cute kid, the face seems a bit squished...
