So I put the batteries in the correct manner, close the lid, and the Print/Share button turns blue, indicating that the batteries are working fine. I close the lid, and hit the ON button, and the light turns off, and nothing happens. What am I doing wrong, or what's going on.

What kind of batteries are you putting in the camera? Alkalines, rechargeable? Are they new, old? Have you checked the battery terminals for corrosion? Is the camera new, old, in between. Tell us more!
