So I stumbled upon an old camera and thought I would buy some film and try it out for fun. Film was about $9 for a 4 pack of 24 exposure ISO 400 film. Pretty basic quality film, too - nothing a pro would use to shoot a wedding or anything. Next to the film was the collection of memory cards. I could get a 1GB flash card in about any variety for the same price. SD was a little cheaper and I could get a 2GB. Now these are Dept store prices and you can do much better online (I recently bought a 4GB for $10).

So I was thinking, it would actually be cheaper to shoot memory cards and never erase and reuse them, that it is to shoot film. Isn't that a bit crazy? 4 rolls of 24 exp film would be about 100 shots.

shoot large format sometime and feel real agony. sheet film cost + processing (which usually has to be sent out, at least locally around here) = 3 to 7 USD every time you click the shutter.

...I miss it, but I don't miss it...
