We were camping a week or so back in Ohio and came across this weird bird.
Just curious if anyone here knew what kinda it was?

Green heron...they're interesting birds to watch.

Little Green Heron. The only heron I know of that will not freak out if you get close to it. I have walked right up to within 6-8 feet of them before I saw them and then stopped and backed up a foot or two and they went on fishing and let me shoot all I wanted. :)

Green Heron's are fascinating little birds. They are one of the only birds that use lures to catch fish.
