"no spot meter; limited continuous-shooting mode"

What's this guy talking about?

It's correct - it has no spot meter, and it's not because they can't do it, it's because they want to sell more 1 series cameras. The continuous shooting mode is a little slower than the 20D.

Exactly, if they put all the same features in, you then are getting to versions of the 20D

I'm very happy with mine! Not sure how I sounded like I wasn't.

I just mixed up Partial metering with spot metering :). When I read that part for some reason I read it as the same thing as partial...even though they're different. If I'm not mistaken partial is like 9 or 10% of the middle of the viewfinder.

And I didn't think the continuous shooting mod was bad...It shoots for as long as I want.

Yesterday, my friend and I were at CompUSA looking for photo printing paper and we had our cameras with us. We saw the 20D and stuck a memory card, lens, and battery in there and tested it out. Very soild and good feeling camera. No doubt I would have picked that over the XT. When I was going to buy a camera it was either the XT with a 420ex or a 20D without one (budget). If I would have chosen the 20D without one I would have never gotten all the shots I would have with that 420ex. Many very memorable family stuff and other things that wouldn't have been possible. So I'm still happy with my XT. =)
