I was looking on craigslist for a laptop and came across a couple ads of guys just selling like a hundred different programs for dirt cheap. Pirated I would assume. This can't be the smartest thing to do. You would think they leave themselves open for a huge copy write lawsuit.

You better believe it - I love the part about no shipping, with all deals being cash-face-to-face..... or perhaps face to gun barrel in a back alley?

How dare you!

This is just the city's latest attempt to drum up funds for 2016.

So the software is pirated... What the mayor wants, the mayor gets.

My advice would be to flag it as a scam w/ Craigslist. There are people out there who aren't as observant as you and will get something illegal. Even as a non-profit, we can't get CS4 Creative Suite for $80.

I don't see how it is any different when people post computers for sale @ $1000 - that include 10-20 programs that each cost $1k or more.... like this is a selling item?!? You mean along with the computer you're selling me, I get thousands of dollars of illegal, pirated software!?!?

I guess that is an enticing offer to some, who can't figure out how or where to get that on there own.

What really makes me laugh, is when the software is just "installed" on the computer - so it's really only a good offer until the first format you have to do (which can be quite often when you've got tons of crappy kracked software installed)

LOL

The academic version of Adobe Creative Suite 4 Master Collection is $500 plus media and taxes - that should raise a ginormous red flag.

Sure it should....and it does for you and me ..... but it makes no difference to greedy people who want something for nothing .
