So I'm fairly new to this forum, as my post count can show, but I've been mainly reading and researching, so I've got to say thanks to all, this has been very helpful!

I started with the DRebel 300D and 18-55mm lens kit last year. And it has been great so far, BUT I'm looking to upgrade.

First it was an 85mm/1.8 the other day. Love it! I think it'll compliment the 50mm/1.8.

So that got me thinking of other lens to buy and upgrade...

After reading post after posts on this forum and reviews on fredmiranda.com, I've purchased these two lens;
EF 70-200mm f/4.0L
EF 17-40mm f/4L USM

To fill the ultra-wide void, I'm also looking at the EF-S 10-22mm. Any reason not to get this? Comments? I'd like to stick with Canon lens. And then, in the next month or so, I'd like to upgrade to the 20D.

Going to Hawaii in June, so I figure it would be a perfect time to try out these lens. I know the 300D isn't the "best" camera to fully test the len's capabilities, but I've seen some VERY beautiful pics with this camera. But who know, maybe I'll go ahead and get the 20D sooner.

Hi

The 10-22 is a lovely lens, you'll not regret buying it. I got one, but then, like an idiot, I bought the 1D Mk2:eek: :eek: so I'll be selling mine! The w-i-d-e angle is amazing.

Good luck and have a great trip

Good choices on lens. But don't sell the 300D short in picture quality. I think you'll have to spend a lot more $ than the 20D to get substantially better image quality.

Welcome,

You'll be quite happy with the 17-40 and the 70-200. :D :D But as we all know, it's a never ending spending spree!:lol: :lol: :lol:

Unless your doing sporting event or fast action action such as that, you can wait a little while on the 20D. The DRebels a very nice camera.

Hoping to go to Hawaii next February for our anniversary - we got married on Maui. Looking to pick up the EFS 10-22 before then as I can think of many areas I'd like to go back to with that lens. I think that would be a great one for you to take.
