I've got proof that there is a landing strip on the dark side of the moon. And some HUGE aircrafts.

The TIFF file looks a lot better, but here is the evidence :-)

Very well timed capture. The back side is dark right now since it is a full moon ... and that is probably why the flight is on this side. :)

... but, not counting earth shine, the "back" side gets as much sunlight as the "front" side. And ... for all we know, they* might refer to this side as the "back" side since they* obviously don't live on this side.

* they = whoever or whatever uses that airport.

Oh it was total luck, never knew the plane was there. I was actually shooting people a house on a cliff for a customer from the other side of the bay -- while chimping I noticed a dirty line in the top of image when I looked I couldn't figure out what it was. When I got home I found this.

A photo very like this one won the "One Earth" category in the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards in 2007.

It's a nice capture.

So's yours...

So some one in here has to be good at math. So like how big is that plane/UFO? Gotta be like a mile+ long! I bet that'll scare the crap out of "them". Good job.

If my math is correct, and assuming the plane was sitting on the surface of the moon, the plane is about 423 miles (680.7km) in length.

I really didn't think anyone would like so I didn't even try to fix the image. Here is my actual attempt at doing some PP to bring out the moon:

Maybe a bit much but I did some curves/levels and unsharp masking in PS.

Being a jpeg the artifacts are getting in the way a little but...

Awesome capture BTW!
