Well, I had some images that I had planned on making into an HDR in the fall, but I finally got around to doing it. Anyways, I'd like to get some C&C on it, so let me know your thoughts. Equipment used was a Canon 450D with a 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS. Thumbnail below, full size (http://imgur.com/gROKN.jpg).

I really like it - it's HDR but not crazy like some, that just look too overprocessed.

IMO, i think it would have been nice if you could have gotten that picture without the building there on the left - and maybe crop out some more of the clouds up top - i feel they take attention away from the statue.

I like the HDR treatment here - well done!

The building doesn't detract, in my opinion. The viewer has no illusions about the riders being a statue, so, it doesn't really intrude or conflict. The lighting, exposure, color balance and composition are all of higher importance, and they're all fine.

Thanks for the input. I wish the building wasn't there, but it would have been very difficult, if not impossible, to get that shot with the building gone. I'm not a huge fan of the "super HDR" that some people do as I feel it just gives the photo an unrealistic look and I feel this implementation just kind of makes the shadows work with the sunset.

composition aside, I like that it doesn't fall into the "ew, that's HDR" HDR category.

HDR is good not over done at all and i agree with the building. it needs to go.
