I'm from northern jersey. I'm planning on going Friday morning (7/24) for the pre-festival media launch, and then going back Friday or Saturday evening with the kiddies. The pre-festival media launch is open to amateur photographers. No sign up or credentials required.

Freelance and amateur photographers and photo clubs wishing to take pictures at the Festival are invited to attend the scheduled pre-Festival media launch free of charge on Friday, July 24 at 6:30 a.m. No credentials or sign up is needed. Are there members def going to this? It seems like a cool opportunity that they are allowing anyone in to shoot the launch.

For anyone that is interested, the festival is inviting freelance and amateur photographers to attend it’s pre-festival media launch free of charge on Friday, 7/24 @ 6:30am. No credentials or sign up required. I do not know if you will be able to get up close to the balloons in the launch area, or if you will have to stay in the general spectator area, but I am going to try and make it out to this. I just called them...
on Friday... the festival starts at 1pm.

i may go for the fri nite ascention at 6:30.... OR..... i will go at 6AM on Sat morning for the 6:30am ascention...

this weather is really messing me up.
