seriously, why do I bother posting in here anymore? I know everyone says, "well look at all the views on all of them and look how few comments are there" but it seems to me that select few will get tons of comments while others get none. I joined this board as a fun way of sharing my photos, getting opinions to help me get better, and to see what other people are doing with their photography. But, it is not helpful, nor is it fun to just merely "Post" my pictures on here with not one reply. What is the point of that? Honestly, isn't that what flicker and shutterfly and all those other photo-hosting websites are for? I mean I get more feedback from my pictures on FACEBOOK!
Maybe I should look harder on google for a canon digital photography forum where feedback is more common, because this is just not fun anymore....

2,3,and 6 are just adorable, and should be framed or in a album for when shes older. and the last one is perfect for the mantle, or wall..
these are really adorable.

Happy 2nd Birthday to your daughter. Looks like she had a wonderful time. I like her expression in the 3rd photo. I'd like to see that one in color. Is that cropped like that in camera or in post processing? The reason I ask is I think it might look a bit better if she were on the right side and her feet weren't cropped.
I have noticed a lot more photos than usual being posted lately by new members. There are a lot of great members here that try really hard to give feedback. Sometimes posts get lost in the shuffle. I've had the same thing happen to me, as I'm sure many other members have. My last post had over 225 views that only got 2 responses, which i was hoping to get more feedback but it happens. I think a lot of people are on holidays or are very busy enjoying their summer. Don't give up, keep posting.

I really like the third one, too. The Mickey Mouse one is precious. I would frame it and put it in her room.

Agree, they are great shots and will give a lifetime of memories. I love 3.......it is certainly one to be blown up and framed! It is the one that I keep going back too. 2 & 6 are great -- shame you couldnt' have gotten them from both angles where you could see her face.

#3 is absolutely beautiful, as is your daughter! And...happy 2nd birthday to her as well. Im sorry that your photos have not been getting comments. If you want c&c i would put in your post to "c&c please" instead of C&C welcomed. Some people will not critique your photos unless you directly ask for it. Also, if you are wanting your photo critiqued, you could also share them in the critque section. I looked back at your last 26 posts that you started. out of those 26 posts...you had a total of 187 comments which would average over 7 comments per post which actually isnt too terribly bad. Also, im not trying to be mean in any way, but you only have 124 posts total. You have started 42 threads total in which you have also made at least 1 comment yourself in each of those threads. Which means that at least 80 or so of your comments have been on your own pictures, therefore you have not commented a whole lot on the photos of other board members. Additionally, i have been on this board for almost 3 years and have learned a lot from the people on this board. You also have to learn by looking at what other people are doing and not only on your critiques. Ask a lot of questions! I think you have done a great job capturing the fun she was having at Disney World. Looks like she had a blast.

I'm new around here, but would have thought if you wanted feedback you'd post in Critique Corner. I do look for ideas in photo sharing for ways to improve my compositions as that is an area of weakness I'm trying to improve.
Kids are hard to photograph and smile sometimes can be impossible to capture. I think a couple smiles by your daughter would have made the capture memorable, not so memorable without it.

I love 3! So cute! I wish I had a little girl to dress up in a princess dress!
As far as the other... I hear ya! I think there is a POTN conspiracy. No matter what anyone says..it is annoying to not get any comments, and then see pictures with a bunch. Oh well.. I keep torturing myself..and everytime I post pictures I always get mad at myself! haha

I like #3 as well. I don't really care for #1 though, it seems to me that the bench is more in focus than your daughter. My attention is more drawn to the bench than the intended subject. I really do like #6 because it is a different angle than most pictures. Most pictures are taken of the face side, instead of back. This shows the great expression and action of your daughter when she saw Mickey! Great job :)

Just came across this posting and have to say I feel the same way, I dont post as much these days due to lack of comments on my pictures, its a pity the OP had to have a rant before anyone posted comments and critiques as they are wonderful pictures of a special time for the little girl.

Well, its like i say. You have to post on other people's pictures, before you can expect others to post on yours. And a lot of the people who "rant" about this...are not doing their share of commenting either. If you want your pictures critiqued then post them in the critique section, since that is what it is for.

I just have to say that, generally for how often I have posted pictures, I do leave feedback for others as well. But, I am only a beginner and leave what insufficient opions I do have, and cannot really get into detailing about other more technical aspects that the posters seem to desire yet.
Also, my only other response to the "post in the critique section" would be that what exactly is the point of all the other sections? Does anyone out there really just want to merely post pics in the other threads and not want a single response? I mean come on, honestly if it was just to POST our pictures wouldnt we just leave them on whatever flicker or other account we have? Why take the time to post here? I think it is cleaner to post in the narrowed down specific threads, but hey, thats just my opinion!
Anyway, thank you guys for some of the awesome positive feedback....#3 is also my favorite, since most you seemed to like that one as well, maybe I am doing something right haha....

Personally, I post pics and don't really expect people to comment. I do it to share what I've done. I also read a lot of comments left on other's posts and find it helpful...a lot of times it gives me ideas or advice I wouldn't have otherwise thought of.
Just my two cents. I find this forum to be incredibly helpful and friendly. If my photos don't get critiqued or commented, it is still nice to share with such a great community.

What i was getting at mostly was that in these sections, you may or may not get critqued on your photos. And yes, it is to share your work so that others can see what you have done, and your work can also be helpful to others by giving them information such as your exif info etc or even ideas. In my opinion, when you post your photos in these sections, you are sharing your work for others to see and if you want C&C, you should put that in your description or a lot of the times you will just get comments such as "how cute, nice shot" etc. If you want detailed c&c as to how to make your photo better, my advice would be to ask for it. Sometimes i will post and only get 5 or 6 comments, while other times i may get 30. You just never know lol. I was not trying to be rude in any way whatsoever so i do apologize if i came off that way. I love seeing your photos so i do hope that you continue to post here!
