some July 4th weekend photos from Busan, South Korea
no fireworks, so I figured I'd shoot something else.

Side note: All shots are without tripod (who needs a tripod anyway...)
I used whatever I could to steady the camera, mainly the ground or a nearby ledge.
Also, seeing how it is the beginning of Monsoon season over here, it was quite hazy outside

koreans are big on photography, there were at least 20 other photographers out there with the same idea as me (strangely enough they all remembered to bring their tripods...)

ok, so this one isn't technically a night shot. my attempt at hdr, and to show where the other shots were taken from (the concrete platform with the people on it)

another feeble hdr attempt.

all shots taken with 40d/24-70L

I know where me and my camera are going this weekend, thanks! Where in Busan is this? I haven't been in years but I might be able to figure it out.

Haeundae beach area, the small bay where most of the building shots were taken is just west of the beach proper. That whole area is amazing, I think I took about 700 shots in 3 days. I just wish the weather was better.

To get there: on the Busan subway, take line two to the Haeundae exit and walk towards the beach, then take a right (west) and start walking on the main road or the boardwalk. There is a little peninsula behind the Westin Chosun hotel with lots of great views, and if you walk around it you will find the huge concrete pad where the majority of these shots were taken.

Enjoy! I know I did.

Thanks, me and a friend are planning to go there on Friday, weather permitting of course. We may have to wait until this rainy weather decides to end.

thanks, that is my favorite shot of the bunch.
took forever to get it right... I'm sure I looked ridiculous also, sprawled out on the ground trying to balance my camera on my wallet, cell phone and a lens cap.

#4 is fantastic. If you gaze into it long enough it starts to look like a starry night sky.

Wow, pretty good for no tripod. I reckon you'd end up with more keepers with one. ;)
