Hi All,
Spent the day at Snetterton Circuit on Saturday photographing the British GT cars and support races. Here are a selection of shots from the Qualifying and Practice sessions for the main GT Cars.
All photo's were taken using a Canon 40D + Sigma 50-500mm EX DG HSM lens.
As always all C&C greatly appreciated.

Amazes me how many views my threads get, but how nobody seems to comment on the photo's - I am a little confused about this? It has happened absolutely loads recently to the point where it seems pointless me posting threads on here as I never get any feedback. I thought the idea of this forum was to provide comments, feedback, guidance and encouragement to fellow photographers, be them professionals, amateurs or somewhere in between. Perhaps somebody can enlighten me on this - am I missing something?
I aren't desperate for comments, but some would be appreciated

Just had a look at these, I think #4 is my favourite. It just works for me.
#1 looks very saturated, could just be this monitor here though as no calibration done on it.
I know what you mean about views v comments by the way - happened to me the other week :)

Cheers for the comments Ingsey both about the photo's and feedback. I'm glad it isn't just my threads that this happens with - I was beginning to think it was personal
#4 was one of my favourites from the day too - I always try and capture a few rear end shots as I think the rear if GT and Le Mans cars can be really interesting with different diffusers, spoilers, exhaust arrangements etc.

I agree about the rear of the cars - I tried it with the Meganes at the Renault World Series and like the results - need some more practice though!
Another thing about 4 I like is the route of the track through the image - it leads the eye nicely. I think it's because you didn't crop / use a longer focal length, like in #5.

for me, #7 stands out as really good. I like the depth of field on this one, it really helps imply motion and focuses attention on the lead car.

Nice series.
I particularly like #2, nice and sharp, and #7. What was the SS and Aperture on #7? To me it could have done with a little more depth of field to show both the cars in sharp focus, unless you were delibarately shooting with your lens wide open just so you got a shallow depth of field. Either way, I like it.
PS Sun in Norfolk!!!

I like #1 the color of the car looks nice, and the car still has room to move in the frame.

Yep - Some of the "party voting" that went on for a while made a lot of good people stop commenting. Seeing the same shot 10 times over folled by the same "great - amazing - super" commentary from the same people got a bit stale after a while.
These things come and go and have hopefully gone for a while :-)
To the photos ... my thoughts would be ....
1. Good pan not sure about the angle. It seems to not need to be there. I'm a fan to angled shots but I can't work out why this one is.
2. Good framing - the surroundings let you down, but not much you can do about them. The fire extinguisher and the uncut grass ..... argghhh. Don't "they" know we need better surroundings
3. Needs lots more pan to loose the distractions.
4. Needs the person on the hill shot
5. Go wider to get the whole of the curve in, slow the shutter speed down and a bit of a pan and the angle would have more of a sense of speed. Can you still stand on the banking for the bridge behind you? Would make an great top down shot perhaps
6. The car in the background has to go
7. I like - just a tad wider to get all of the rear wing of the following car in
8. Looks to be just a tad slow - 1/200 and F10 - as it is almost head on perhaps trade down to F8 for even F5.6 to get a little more shutter speed. To me it looks just a bit blurred. Otherwise a cool shot.
It is easy to analyse other peoples work and just sound negative - not my intention. None of my comments suggest I could do better, only in the spirit of your original post we seem to have lost the art of feedback.
Hope it helps
Cheers Dave
