I'm trying to pick between a Domke F-2 or F-3x.

I currently have a Crumpler 6mil bag but it's not working for me. Going to sell it and try a Domke.

I need to put my 5DII gripped w/ 70-200mm attached into the bag with a 24-70mm, flash, and some accessories. I think the F-2 might be too big for what i need but not sure if the F-3x will fit everything?

Anyone have this set up?

Does anyone have pics of them w/ either bag on so I can see how big it is?

thanks

With a normal F-2, you won't be able to fit a 5Dw/70-200. You would need to purchase the single insert (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/16060-REG/Domke_720_210_FA_210_Insert.html) to hold the 24-70.

5D2/70-200 mounted, 24-70(in homemade FA-210 insert), and flash(in sidepocket)

Bag closes perfectly. and there would definitely be room for the grip.

Would recommend the F2 for that setup. As pointed out above, keep it simple and place the 5DII with lens on its side, will fit no issue. I find the 70-200 to be too big for the F-3x for my taste. While this is my go to bag, when I need the 70-200 I grab my F2. Below is a review of what I fit in my F-3x.

do either of you guys have a pic of the bag on you? just wanted to see how big the F-2 is?

or how big it is compared to the crumpler 6?

Domke doesn't include general inserts with their bags?

you could try the F2 with http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=workaround.jsp&A=details&Q=&sku=601407&is=REG

it might fit the 5D2 + 24-70 mounted and the 70-200 in vertically.

I carry my sigma 70-200/2.8 vertical in my F2 and J2 inserts all the time without issue. the canon 70-200 is basically the same diameter

do you mean with it attached vertically?

i don't mind the 200 attached and laid down horizontally (doesn't need to be vert) and everything else sits vertically. if it can do that, it will support every other lens attached since the 200 is the biggest one i own.

I have the Domke F-3xb (same as the F-3x but has the ballistic nylon) and I'm able to fit everything I have (in my sig) into the bag. However, it's a full bag and can be heavy for some.

The 70-200 2.8 IS with body is too long for the Domke F-3x faced down (flap can't close all the way if I remember correctly). The only way I can fit all items in the bag is to have my 17-55 (hood reversed and over the 70-200 hood) attached to my 40D (face down), 70-200 2.8 on the side (with tripod mount), and 580ex II on the other side. The side pockets hold the small accessories in one side and the 50 1.8 in on the other.

I can post a pic tonight if you'd like.

oh no. The only way I can fit my 1D2 + 70-200/2.8 mounted is vertically in my J3. My F2 and J2 nor my F-3x Pres. Ed. have the height.
