I happened up on the Barred Owl. The whole time I was taking his picture, I just knew that he/she was going to fly off. It was pretty cool. He wouldn't look at me at first but I made a goofy sound with me lips and he turned his head back around. :lol:

Lucky you knew the right word to say! I'm surprised that it isn't camouflaged at all. Would they normally be so visible?

I don't know. I would think so. Just knowing where to look is the key I think. My spotting of the owl was not by any skill or knowledge of where to look. But this experience didi teach me to try to be more purposeful in my search for photo ops, whereever I'm at... particularly in the woods.
