My friend and I were in National Camera Exchange on Monday. I bought my 50mm lens and he looked at used film cameras. He walked out with a Noink.

I'm such a disgrace to this forum for not managing to talk him into a Canon.

How could you?!! :o ;) :D

Well, you did one good deed, you lured me in here (even if it ruined my night sleep... but what the.... it's saturday tomorrow and I only have to translate two chapters tomorrow to pick up slack time).

Noink makes fine film cameras (gasp!). It's just that Canon makes superior digital cameras:lol:

CyberDyne, don't you worry... lets see, this last week I did convince two guys to buy a Canon 20D, is that good enough? :D

Too bad I couldn't afford one myself, so I'm "stuck" with my small 350D instead, but I like it. The size doens't matter anyway. It's the lenght of your glass.... or was it... oh never mind, I don't have any long lenses yet... hoping for some used lenses this spring (mainly Canon 80-200/2.8 L and a nice 20-35/2.8 L).

Hopefully with my review in the Swedish MacWorld magazine I have convinced a few more to buy Canon, I wrote up the 350D in it's class pretty high (9 out of 10).

Do I get brownie points now, or will I just have to settle with the great joy to have convinced two of my friends they are seeing the light?

Is Petra married (or taken in any other way).

LOL! Yes, An evil Canuck stole my heart 8 years ago. He's not very amused about my interest in camera's and complains that all the money we should put into a new car, or into the house is instead going to buy me more gear. He's so ungrateful, I've stopped taking pictures of him sleeping on the couch (actually that's not true, the first picture I took with the 350D was of him sleeping on the couch, but *hush* don't tell him that, it was part of a deal we made and I sort of broke it on day one with the new camera) :D

I'm telling you....

Those Canadians are trying to take over the world.

Welcome to the forum, Petra. You've already upgraded your circle of friends by coming here. None of us would shame you in such a manner.

Canadians? Thought she was Swedish (why do I feel stupid saying that).

She said she's married to an 'Evil Canuck.' I believe that means Canadian. If he wears a beaver hat and talks funny, that clinches it.

Drinks a lot of beer and eats nothing but poutine and pea-meal backbacon....

Yes apperently they've recently made it legal for Canadians to marry outside there country!

Got it now ;)

Btw, am I allowed to hate him.

Edit: I want to hate him for marrying a beautiful and lovely lady. He took a good lady out from the "singles" pool.

LMAO Oh my, I just laughed so hard when I saw this! LOL Sorry CDS! Now I'm really hanging my headin shame. :(

Aam1234, hey I'm still single! :p

CyperPet, I did try out the 350D in a store a while back. It's tiny! Didn't feelt right in my hands. The 20D felt good though. Might get that when I decide to upgrade, but that won't be for a long time (and by then prices should be down).

And your point would be........

Welcome to Petra to the forum. If you really want to get the straight goods here, ask a Canadian.

Claire, I hope you are hanging your head in shame. http://www.pbase.com/ssim/image/41170237.jpg

ROTFL!!!! You guys are hillarious. Well, Clarie was right, she said I'd fit in right away. Thanks girl! :)

Well, according to the friend that is the reason hubby and I met, she said he was deported from Canada. Hmmm... sometimes I think she's right. :D

Hubby and I met online 8 years ago, when he was helping my friend to hook up a video cam software. So he saw me first and went something like "oh, I've never seen a "live blonde swede before". I think he's only seen "swedes" in the Swedish Swimsuit Calender (which is all non-swedes and, well not sure about if their blondness is true or if it's chemical seeping into their minds making it a reason to make all those blonde jokes, cuz everyone know that a REAL blonde is smarter). Took less than 6 mo before we met "live" and sparks flew (I'm so easy to please) and after that it took some paperwork and stuff and he moved to Sweden 7 years ago.

It's true what they say about canadian, they are always very polite (a Canadian NHL player was interviewed on tv and said Sweden had a good team this World Cup round... now *that* is polite!) :D

Awwww. don't worry about it Claire. We've made up for the loss here at my house. We have about 6 Canons including two 20D's :):):)

Yes, yes, I'm still hanging my head in shame. I tried getting him to buy a Canon, but think they were out of his budget or something. I'll do better next time.

Hey! I brought you guys a Swedish Canon user who even promotes Canon in magazines, shouldn't that make it up somewhat?

Maureen, when you upgrade to your next camera, wanna send me the 20D? ;)

Oracle (aka Bloo Dog), OMG, please don't tell me to enroll into a convent! Haven't I been through enough? :(

I think I'll be hanging on to this for quite a while Miss Claire...just got my first L lens for it and have been out playing with it today.

I just gave my little A80 to my niece who is a poor college student on a tight budget. She is going to Australia next month to do some volunteer work and I thought she should have a nice, little, easy digital to take with her.

Keep saving your pennies, by the time you have enough they will have the 30D out and you can purchae it and gloat at me:lol:

Claire, yes that's the spirit!!! I'm here to pester everyone, and I'll pester everyone in Sweden too.... I just love my mission in life. To pester. :D

Btw, Sweden beat Canada in the hockey game last night.... my husband is now hanging HIS head in shame. It's like Basil in Fawlty Towers "don't mention the war, I did mention it once, but I think I got away with it".
