just came out yesterday -- cost about $30 with shipping for the printed version only. I had one of their books for an earlier Powershot model -- pretty easy to understand and well illustrated with many examples!

Mine is on order...I can't wait!

From the book content it looks to me a lot like the G6's factory manual.

I have to agree with Raw, the factory book is enough. There is enough room on a 512 card to practice at super fine setting and just fire away with different settings and delete the ones that don't work there and then. The factory book has enough info about what does what!!

We might as well just shut down this forum, since we all have manuals.

Adobe Photoshop is an excellent program. Unfortunately, in my opinion, even though it has a detailed manual, it is not the easiest to understand. As a result, I can see why countless books on PShop have been written to "simplify" what is written in the original manual as well as present new methods to expand the capability of the program.

In my case, although the Canon manual is quite good, I appreciate a "for Dummies..." type approach sometimes. The earlier book I got from them made the directions even easier to understand and showed several good examples instead of just one.

While I haven't used them, I've heard that the "Short Course" books are an EXCELLENT supplement to the manual, as well as giving simplified explanations that are easy to understand. Thanks for taking the time to post this :D
