hey there... a friend of mine is just designing a website at the moment( he does this for a living) for my photography business but is taking forever and i dont think that he understands that i need it sooner rather than next year.

what i need is a website that can be easily updated by myself( who has bugger all knowledge of flash!) but i need it to look really really smick. if i can create it myself, that cool, templates are great... but i need to get the ball rolling so that i can push the wedding photography.

do you guys have any ideas of good places that i can start, that are cheap (but not too cheap!) for this type of website that i have in mind. i need something that can have multiple galleries, for portraiture;wedding;family;eshoot etc,

any help would be appreciated...

thanks a heap

A CMS (Content Management System) is more or less what you're looking for. Joomla and Drupal are two instances. They each have templates you can use (most cost, but aren't horribly expensive) and can be setup very quickly. There are also components written for them that add additional features depending on your needs. From calendars to image galleries. Not a sales pitch, but I do this for a living, so any specific questions you can write here or PM to me and I'll try to help out.

well all... thanks for your responses...

in the end i went with bigflolio...

their cms back end is really 2nd to none and the customer support is off the chart... just so you know i still havent heard back from a major player in this game that was recommended to me. In this time i have bought, managed and now started to gain interest from prospective clients... would highly recommend bigfolio...

the website is up and running...

please, feedback would be awesome, it can only help...

thanks again

As a web developer myself, I'd only recommend WordPress. It's tons easier to use than Joomla, Drupal, etc.. and there is far more resources out there at your disposal.

Are there any sites that you can go straight from lightroom to make a fully functioning site including contact us and multiple galleries? I love lightroom!
