Red Bull MotoGp Laguna Seca 2009

I spent the weekend down at Laguna Seca enjoying the races and shooting some photos. Most were slightly over exposed, I need to learn to read and trust the histogram. Here are a few captures.

Nice set of photo's.

I like the Lorenzo shot most because it has a good angle and the see through visor shows the concentration in his eyes looking at where he wants to go.

That first shot is perfect for looking down at Turn 5. Knee down and some eyes in the helmet. Can't ask for more.

Excellent shots. I have just booked tickets and a 9 day hire of a Canon 100-400L lens for Doningtion MotoGP. Can't wait!

Thanks, I used a 70-200 f/4L IS and a 300 F/4L IS. Even with a 1.4X I needed more reach in some spots. Specifically turn 2 and the headon shots at turn 5. The Lorenzo shot is cropped about 50%. I had gotten comfortable shooting cars at Laguna but bikes are so much smaller and more difficult to shoot. Next year I'll give the 100-400L a try.
