I'm pretty new here and want to get some critique on these two photo's. Made these pictures a few weeks ago in the zoo. Don't like the spot on the bottom right on the first photo.

Hi! I love the expression you captured in the first photo! I guess the spot your are referring to in the first photo is a leaf that is out of focus. You could always try this spot again with a more narrow aperture, but then again, I really like the DOF in the first photo, and the detail in the feathers is great!

For the second photo, again, I really like the expression you captured. It looks like you were shooting in really bright sunlight, as the left side of the cat is blown. This is hard to avoid at the zoo.

The zoo is a great place to practice. I can't see your EXIF data, but I'm guessing that you shot these with your 70-300mm?

Yes, both shot with the 70-300mm. Going to South Africa in august, hope this lens will be long enough to shoot some nice safari pictures.
