I finally put new flooring in my office, so now I can put my desk/computer in there and get started on my backlog of editing. My question what kind/type of lighting I should put in there. It's got a god-awful plastic light fixture on the ceiling that I will replace with something...but what?
I'm not too worried about style, so even a cheap florescent fixture is an option.
Firstly, I will be editing photos in there, so I won't use any fixture that will give me a color cast (or does that really matter?)
Should I use those 'day light' florescent bulbs? The make a room feel so sterile compared to the warmer lighting that is usually in a house...but if that's better for color correcting I'll go for it.
Is it better to flood the room with soft even light or just keep the light off of your screens? In my last place, I had track lighting with tight beam lights so I just adjusted the direction of the three fixtures so that the light was where I needed it and not shining directly on the screens. I could go with a similar set up, but I don't like the bulbs that usually go into these types of fixtures.
Any input is welcome.
