View Full Version : Got my CyberSyncs today, how to attach to strobe?

My CST transmitter and 3 CSRB receivers all came in today and I've already done some testing with my Genesis 200 strobes and 580exII speedlight and everything works great. But I have one question. How is everyone attaching them to their strobes? I'm not talking about the sync cord attachment, I'm talking about the physical body of the receivers. The Skyports and Pocket Wizards come with a nylon cord that you can use to hand the recievers from your strobes. Not only did the CyberSync's not come with a cord, there isn't even a loop or attachment point to the body of receivers to hook up a cord.
I'm curious how all of you CyberSync users out there are attaching them to your strobes. Are you just letting them dangle by the sync cord? Did you rig up some custom solution?

I tried velcro for a while but didn't like it. Ended up using the lanyard route. Below is a link to a sample on Flickr of someone that did the mod.

I bought some lanyards off ebay (arrived just 2 days ago). Lanyard is a great idea for the Cybersyncs!
EDIT: DDCSD beat me buy a few seconds... :)

Velcro for me. Works just fine and it's cost efficient :)

I use bongo ties (at least, I use them to attach the receiver to the light stand):

Bongo ties look pretty cool. I just use the cheapie bungie-ball cords that you can pick up at pretty much any hardware store. I got mine from Canadian Tire here in Canada.

I actually let mine just dangle from the cord, but have been meaning to do the lanyard thing for awhile. Just never got around to it.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll pick some lanyards up from eBay and go that route.

Its simple and I think you'll find it works. I did the velcro thing for a while but didn't want to buy more velcro straps to attach the Cybersync, nor did I want to put the velcro on my flash, trying to get away from that.

I just use some sunglasses pouches, I got mine for free from a sunglass store.
Hook up my cybersync, drop them in pounch, synch up the line and hang that from the light stand :). Works pretty well and cheap!

I'm wondering if anyone has a photo of their solution (mounted on a stand). I'm considering picking up a set of these triggers. Thanks in advance.

I use velcro and wrap it around the cybersync and the light stand. The lanyard looks great though!

I was using these but misplaced them somehow ( I cut a hole in the side so i could just plug in the cable)
Now I just use rubberbands around the stand
