I'm looking straight up at the western edge of a budding thunderstorm. A few minutes later I hear thunder in the distance. Canon S500 study in contrasts from Gray to blue.

Neat picture! It conveys the grand scale and nature of the threatening-to-consume-the-sky cloud very well, and the colors look deep and ominous.

Thanks for the comment, Smithcon. I had reservations about this image after I had posted it. It is one of those images where there is not a good reference frame for knowing how you are viewing it. It works best for me if I remind myself that I am looking directly overhead, at the bottom of this cloud.

You've really captured the drama in this one. It might have been nice to have something in the foreground though, to give it perspective. A plane would have been perfect, but I guess we can't choose our moments :)

Nice shot - I agree with the previous suggestion of a foreground object, to give it a scale of how huge it is. Good shot for a cloud library.
