Hi group, this is my first post and i have an important question regarding the 20D. Has anyone upgraded their Firmware to version 2.0.0? is there any real difference in camera functionality with the new upgrade? any tips you guys have when upgrading to the new firmware (i've heard horror stories about the last upgrade).
I'd appreciate feedback.

You might not notice any difference in performance. Some people think that Canon fixes bugs without announcing them. Not sure I believe it, but I always use the latest firmware. The ONLY horror stories you will hear are from people that refuse to RTFM before installing. They do it wrong and lock up their cameras. I have NEVER had ANY issues ever updating ANY of my cameras.

Upgraded a while back ... absolutely no problems. For that matter, I've had fewer problems since the update.

upgrading is very simple, just make sure you have a fully charged battery or AC adaptor
1)download the firmware, run the program, it will create a firmware for you
2)put your CF in a card readr (not the camera!)
3)copy the firmware to your CF root directory (not a subfolder in the card)
4)put the CF back into the camera, turn on, go to menu and follow prompt etc...
****do not toy with your camera during the update***
hope this helps, i upgraded my camera the moment i got it

No problems here, either. I've upgraded mine every time since the first released version. There's no way to know everything that changes other than the published changes.

Cookie, if you are not confident enough to do it yourself, ask canon technicians to do it for you. I sent mine to canon yesterday to upgrade.
