I was bored and wandered out into the front yard. There were some bird chirps from the hedges in front of my house and as I wandered over there, a bird shot out and buzzed my shaved head. He(?) landed on a nearbye tree and began to scold me.

AHA! A nest, maybe? I rushed back in and got my camera and new tripod. After snapping about 60 pictures, managed to save a few that weren't too sucky.

Momma giving me the evil eye...

Poppa on my railing, looking like he was pretty mad.

Momma again, this time from the back of the hedge

This guy was buzzing around so I snapped 2 shots, one of them came out good.

Nice shots. Now u need the picture of their baby to complete the family shot. :D

Yeah, i learned something this morning too. I accidentally got too close to a Cardinal nest, and the parents were scolding me. Of course, that also gave me a great opportunity to take good pictures of them.
Nope, i did not touch or get closer than 1 foot from the nest. ;)

It will be a while, it was still in the contruction phase. I'll keep an eye on them as the summer progresses!

Very nice pics! congrats on getting focus through the branches. The angle on the "knee" joint in #2 looks painful.

Yeah, autofocus isn't all it is cracked up to be. I love that you can adjust the focus manually even on AF with this L lens!
