So I'm stating to do prints for some models that have asked me for it, but I don't know what's the standard industry print size.
Thus far I only have a FF camera and I just be using that size for prints, but I keep hearing 8x10 or 8x11.5 ..
Thanks for the info ..

As far as I know, the "standard" is 8x10 if you are looking in that size.
The "standard" print sizes my company offers are:
3(1/2)x5; 4x6; 5x7; 8x10; 8x12; 11x14; 12x18; 16x20; 20x30; 24x36

I've never actually heard of a "standard industry print size". I'm guessing there really isn't a standard....it's just going to depend on how the model wants to build his/her portfolio.

One thing I have found recently is that it's almost impossible to find 4" x 5" frames. That's the same aspect ratio as the very common 8" x 10", only smaller. 4" x 6" frames are very common but not 4" x 5".

Here's a list of the 'standard' sizes one UK company supplies -
5"x3.75
6"x4"
6"x4.5"
7"x5"
7.5"x5"
5"x5"
8"x6"
8"x8"
10"x7"
9"x6"
10"x8"
12"x5"
A4
12"x8"
12"x10"
15"x10"

Ditto for finding 8x12 frames (the same ratio as 4x6 prints). It really bugs me that 4x6, 5x7, and 8x10, all standard sizes, are all different ratios. You need a different crop for each size.

But to respond to the OP's question which was about portfolios (and tear sheets), the majority I've come across are 8x10 or 11x14 glossies.
