580 EX doesn't work

I seem to be having problems with my 580. It seems to work fine in the Auto mode, with the 20D and the 300D, but if I switch to AV or anything else, the green ready light on the flash goes out and it will not fire. It was working a couple times today, but seemed to be intermittedly. Anyone have a clue. The batteries are fresh and like I said, it seems to work fine in full Auto mode :rolleyes:

Never mind, I think I figured out the problem. I forgot that NiMH batteries loose their charge after setting for awhile and I also forgot that the light is supposed to be red when it was totally ready. I thought green meant that. So, my tramatic experience is now over. Thanks for letting me figure it out by myself, which makes me pay more attention to silly things, like manuals. You people are so smart.

Man I am glad to hear that was all it is. I LOVE my 580. Man is it slick. I have yet to master alot. I am just starting to mess around with the pull out diffuser diffuser and power settings.
