speedlite 380ex vs 580

I'm using my old 380ex (from my now seemingly ancient powershot pro70) with my recently aquired 20D.

The results are pretty good but I'm thinking of getting a 580ex and using the 380 as a fill.

What are my options for triggering the 380,

I understand the 580 has wireless trigger but I'm looking for a relatively low cost means of triggering the 380.:)

You can buy inexpensive flash and trigger shoes to trigger them. They attach to the flash either on the hotshoe or via PC connection on the slave. They are photo trigger. But if want something more complex they make RF trigers as well. They require a Tx and one or more Rx(for the slave flash)
