Ok - had a quick question and just need to reaffirm a thought I had

I've had decent success using polarizers for landscape shots or stationary objects. However, i don't think using a polarizer works well when shooting airshows. For some reason i appear to get a light halo around the aircraft when i use it (and darker sky)

Is it true we should avoid using polarizers for ground to air photgraphy ?

thanks for any help / advice !

A polarizer is most effective when shooting at 90° to the axis of the sun. In ground-to-air photography, the aircraft is going to be passing through a minimum 180° arc, so the polarizer would only be effective in a portion of the shots. You'll end up with inconsistent skies in each series of shots...
