katodog
15th of December 2009 (Tue), 10:24
Whether or not it is commonly found in a kitchen is a tough question to answer. It can be found in a kitchen, very easily in fact, but it's not really something you'd find in a kitchen. I will say it is not a kitchen item, but it can be found in a kitchen.
It is not a wafer, and it is not a food item. It has nothing to do with food.

In a manner of speaking I guess it is, though I wouldn't call it that directly.
This may be a little hard to guess. I honestly had never looked at one up close until I was looking for something to shoot and post, though I had worked with them a few times before when dealing with my computers.
This is computer related, and everyone has one in one form or other in their "box". I'm guessing laptops do as well, but I've never looked much at the innards of those like I have desktops. Hope the hint helps... ;)

OK, I'll give it to you. This is specifically a CPU socket, but I guess it's still a "chip". I won't be that picky about this. :)
414715
I admit I was amazed to see it up close. It's a little liberating when you don't care what you do to a system board. This one got toasted by lightning this summer, so it's now a photo subject. The actual CPU is in another machine now. If anyone cares, it's a socket 775 on an Intel system board for a core 2 duo CPU. And yes, it has lint and dust on it, but who cares now?
Was that what you thought it was katodog??

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a399/katodog/IMG_0320b.jpg
I didn't think it would be that hard, but I also wasn't thinking about the white primes. People could have been guessing for a lot longer than I thought. And then I had to take my gear list out of my sig so people wouldn't try to be sneaky.
Daniel, you're up!!
lavanut
20th of December 2009 (Sun), 10:54
I don't have that one. I kept looking for the dark gray ring in front of the switches on mine and didn't see one. I don't feel so bad about not guessing this one.;)
katodog
20th of December 2009 (Sun), 11:01
The 28-300mm IS is not a popular lens, and I wouldn't expect people to guess it right away. I had to make it specific though, because just letting someone guess L lens from the white paint was too easy.
