Water is involved. It's hotter than an ice cube...it doesn't show bubbles, rather the opposite of bubbles, and the background does show raised bumps, but they are not really relevant. :)

It's the water level indicator - the "bubbles" are droplets of water, and there is a line where the water is below. It's plastic, not glass. :)
