I'm looking for something, shoulder bag I think, something I can have hanging in back of me but can swing around in front to get at it, to hold:

20D
70-200 2.8 IS (something big enough for this to be attached)
24-70 2.8L
10-22
All with hoods, reversed if needed
1.4x TC
580EX+omnibounce(optional, I can live whithout this being in the bag)
And of course some space for batteries/CF cards/filters.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Edit for something I should have put in in the first place: This is just going to be my everyday walk-around bag, I have a computrekker for whenever I want to have all my stuff with me, so for this bag I want it to actually be as small as possible and still fit what I have listed above.

In the last year I have been through at least a half dozen different bags and so far the Tamrac 5259 Cyberpack 9 backpack has come out ahead for my needs. It has lots of space + it has the Laptop pocket and is carry on compatable for the airlines. Some the other bags I have tried/owned include.

Lowepro Nova 5 (Became too small real fast)
Lowepro Mini Trekker (not deep enough for camera with grip attached)
Lowepro Trekker AW (Nice but not enough room)
Tamrac 5275 Expedition 5 backpack (Again nice but not enough room)
Lowepro Commercial AW (Lots of room, but inconvenient double stacking arrangement)
Tamrac 5259 CyberPack 9 (Best so Far) Has been arranged to fit 2 camera bodies with lenses attached + lots of extra gear..
Next try will be the Lowepro Omni Trekker (Allows for toploader set up for quick draw and fits in a Pelican 1550 for ultimate protection)

I just stumbled across the Domke J-1 bag in my endless online search, I like the looks of it but does anyone have one or know for sure if it'll fit what I have listed and with the 70-200 attached?

And thanks for the post BigRed, nothing quite what I want but it led me to some ideas.

Sorry to everyone if I'm asking a lot of questions, but there aren't any stores around here that I can go look at bags so I have to do everything online.

The Lowepro Stealth 650 will hold the 24-70 with its hood in normal position. The 70-200 hood needs to be reversed. You can get three big lenses into this bag, any one of which would be attached to the body. All lenses are vertically oriented so getting anything into and out of the bag is easy. The body can be as big as a 1-series or a 20D with the grip on.

I had contacted Lowepro to find out what shoulder bag would hold the 20D with grip, 16-35 f2.8, 24-70 f2.8, and 70-200 f2.8 IS, all with hoods. Their response is that the Stealth 650 was actually designed for this combination.

Look into the crumpler - 7 million dollar home. That's a fantastic bag and should hold all of your equipment.

Yes, the Domke J-1 should handle all your gear. I have the F7AF which is almost the same size and does fine.

This Canon (can't remember model #) shoulder bag should hold everything. I still have room to spare. Includes tripod loops. I believe it was $60 at *gasp* Best buy.

Well, its not a shoulder bag, but I just got the canon branded backpack. Besides some minor shortcomings, for $50 it holds a ton of stuff. I had a lowepro nova bag before, and I thought that was a hard bag to get in and out of, and it was terrible for hiking...

Thenethiel -

The Lowepro Orion Aw is both a sjoulder bag, a belt bag and a backpack. I had one for a while. It is a great bag with plenty of space. You may want to check it out.

After looking over a ton of bags at Glazer's pro photo store in Seattle, I settled on an M-Rock. They are well built, have nice extras that are lacking on many other bags and are competitively priced.

Here's the M-Rock site:

Glazer's also sells by mail at:

Amazon carrys M-Rocks, too.
