Quick question, after you purchase your template and you decide to host it some where else, what is the process for getting it online? I've read that they install it, and then you make changes, then you email them to let them know your ready to go live. Why do you need to do this? Don't you just install a flash template on your site?

Also, what if you want to make changes, update pictures/graphics/colors etc after it's gone "live"? My website layouts (colors and graphics) always change month to month depending on the what season it is etc. Can you only change these things once, then thats it for good? If you can update frequently, do you have to go through their reps everytime or can you just do it yourself? I've read the faq and this is something I'm a little hazy about.

Just ordered a template from them and would like to know. If I can't update it myself, then I might of made a bad choice and will ask for a refund before any work gets done on it.

Thanks.

It's in a temporary area so your live site isn't empty. You configure it, then they put it onto the root of your website. You can edit it after it's live too, there's a control panel. Once it's live you don't have to talk to BD again, which is a good thing, since their customer service is reputed to be some of the worst on the planet. I got a template from them but never took it live, their service was only just acceptable.

That's what I was reading actually (about the customer service). I've been secretly cyber stalking your posts, hah. Even went with Gator Host per your recommendation. So pretty much it works like this.

You get template>you edit template to a good startup position>they install>you make changes to it from there whenever you like. Does this include colors/backgrounds, graphics etc? I'm just a little hesitant, as I know I'll get the site done, have them install then totally want to change it again after that. Just how I am.

What's the throwback to just saying go ahead, install it and I'll edit it on my time?

That correct?

You have the jest of it. You could go live once they sell you the template but there is a few simple things you will want to modify first ie: your contact info, copyright info, meta data etc. and you could throw in a few photos as placeholders. You could have enough of the site ready in just a few minutes. Anything you can change initially can be changed anytime later on.
I've bought twice from Bludomain (hosted elsewhere such as yourself) and dispite the bad rap they get, I've had stellar service.

Your training is almost complete, young Padwan.

You can edit anything anytime. If you have them install it to the root of your domain to start with anyone who vists your website will get an empty/blank template. There's no downside to having it in a temporary location, editing it, then taking it live.
